A few nights ago Gracie and I made another one of her "Must Have Summer Maxi Dresses". She chose the fabrics and then I sewed it up using the same steps I used in the tutorial I put together for her first "must have summer maxi dress": (I still love this dress!) The only change we made to the dress this time was letting Grace choose the fabrics and adding a shorter, knee length layer on top of the maxi layer. She's kind of impressed with herself. The Art of Homemaking: Family Traditions, Memorial Day
Family Traditions. I'm big on them. And yesterday we kept one of my favorites. Memorial Day. I know that memorial day means a lot of different things to a lot of different people....and that everyone has their own way of observing it. From breakfasts to BBQ's and from public gatherings to private prayer. For my family we annually visit at least 3 different cemeteries (and often more). We caravan with parents, grandparents, and siblings from place to place stopping in between for sodas ... View the Post
Behind the Blog: Hatching New Ideas…..

It's a month long series in May that encourages women to take the time to sew for themselves. (You should head over there and check it out....so many great ladies and lovely projects.) The project I chose to make for myself is actually the exact same pattern I sewed for myself for the Ugly Duckly Pattern Challenge we held last month. But this ... View the Post
