Modern Quilt Along–Minimalism with Modern Handcraft
It's the first week in October (I almost typed November...this year is flying!) and that means it is once again time for our series for 2017--The Modern Quilt Along. It's a series where we are looking at one aspect of modern quilting each month and trying to incorporate it into our quilting time. This month the theme is minimalism and it is one of the hallmarks of the modern quilting era. Minimalism is defined in the design world as the style or technique that is characterized by extreme ... How to Tie a Quilt
This is one of those projects that brings back so many memories for me. I remember fondly opening up a gigantic box one year as a Christmas gift. Don't you love that? And the blog that ... View the Post
Halloween Scrappy Sawtooth Quilt
Last week we released The Scrappy Sawtooth Quilt Pattern and I made up one more to show you how cute it is with different fabrics. This one is the Halloween version made with Carina Gardner's newest fabric line "Eek, Boo, Shriek." from Riley Blake Designs. I love the look of traditional Halloween so I went with using a 2.5" roll for the middle nine patch of the sawtooth patchwork blocks and then did all the outside stars in some yardage of black and white swiss dots. I LOVE swiss dot and ... View the Post
