Maple Leaf Pillow
This fall our newest fabric line with Riley Blake Designs was released. It is called Pumpkin Spice and I just LOVE it.
I was lucky enough to receive some advanced yardage this summer before it hit the stores and opening up that box of fabric was like Christmas! Or…maybe Thanksgiving might be more accurate.
At any rate I have been so excited to start sewing up quilt blocks.
Unfortunately, life had other plans and I have been so busy. But last weekend I finally stole away to the basement and spent some time sewing.
I didn’t have long but I knew I would have enough time to whip up an Autumn throw pillow using Elizabeth’s Modern Maple Leaf tutorial from a few years back.
Here’s how it turned out:
Ok….So I shoved a 22″ pillow into a 18″ pillow case so it is a bit ummmm…ready to burst….but I’ll pick up an 18″ (or 20″) pillow form while I’m out this weekend. 🙂
This pillow was a quick sew and made for a perfect Sunday morning project. Not only was easy to cut and piece it was fun to quilt…I just put on a podcast and did some straight stitching.
And…it made me excited to sew up some more quilt blocks with this fabric.
If you need a fun project that comes together in a hurry click HERE to pop on over to the Modern Maple Leaf pillow tutorial that I used.
Happy Sewing!
