Easy Beginner Quilt Patterns that Use Simple Squares
Today I have put together a round up of easy beginner quilt patterns that are stitched up using only simple squares…perfect those just starting to try their hand at quilting….or those looking for some quick sews.
Some of these patterns are large (71″ x 71″) and others are baby sized (48″ x 48″) but all of them are constructed primarily with pre cut squares.
Here is the list of the lucky 7 PDF patterns I picked for some simple, square, summer quilting..in no particular order.

Our Gingham Quilt PDF Pattern is a favorite. It comes with two different sizes…one that makes up into a queen size quilt and the other a baby quilt. This pattern is such a quick sew and is perfect for using your favorite solid colors. You can find the PDF pattern HERE in our shop.

Our Go-To Quilt Pattern was designed with pre-cut 5″ squares in mind. It is a quick sew with rows of squares and sashing. Fun to make and a great size for a throw. The pattern finishes up at 48″ x 48″ and can be found HERE in our shop.

Our Plus Quilt PDF Quilt Pattern is another fun way to show off your favorite fabrics…and it works well with both solids and prints. Finishing up at 71″ x 71″ it is a large quilt that is perfect for snuggling under. The PDF pattern can be found HERE in our shop.

The Starting at Square One Quilt PDF Pattern is made up of one large middle square surrounded by 5″ squares. It is a great way to showcase a larger piece of your favorite fabric. This quilt finishes up at 50″ x 50″ and the PDF pattern can be found HERE in our shop.

The Just for Fun PDF Quilt Pattern is constructed using 5″ squares along with strips of white sashing. It is perfect to use with precut fabrics or with scrap fabric. The pattern finishes up at 50″ x 50″ and the PDF pattern can be found HERE in our shop.

The Make it Over the Weekend PDF Quilt Pattern is made by stitching together both large and smaller size squares. It is one I’ve sewn up over and over again…in solids, in prints, and in flannels….and it looks great every time. The pattern finishes up at 57″ x 57″ and can be found HERE in our shop.

The Ragged Flag PDF Quilt Pattern is another one that I have sewn up dozens of times. Not only is the pattern great for scrap busting but it is a rag quilt which means that it doesn’t need to be quilted! This flag quilt finishes up at 46″ x 60″ and can be found HERE in our shop.
