Hanukkah Quilt
I’m excited to share my Hanukkah quilt today….during Hanukkah!
I made this quilt last fall using Riley Blake Designs “Festival of Lights” fabric to match a table runner that I made using a panel from that line. (You can see the table runner HERE.)
But….I didn’t get the quilt quilted or bound until this year.
I’m glad that I finally finished it up…I love how it turned out.
It is a small throw sized quilt that has been living on my couch next to the table with the runner on it.
And while it is just a simple design using half square triangles it looks interesting folded and draped in our family room.
I combined the Festival of Lights fabric with a little bit of Gold Sparkle to represent the candle light and then bound the quilt with a gold and white lattice print from our Shine Bright fabric line that we designed with Riley Blake a few years back.
And that combination….is fabulous!
I love the blue with the white and gold….and may have saved some more of this fabric to make just one more quilt to join the couch next season.
The day I went out take take pictures of this quilt it was so beautiful…the sun was setting, the snow was fresh, and the skies were clear.
And…when I jumped back into the car to warm my hands I realized that I was wearing my Goodr Hanukkah sunglasses that matched my quilt.
It felt like a perfect day!
At our house we celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah and while we have a lot of Christmas quilts we haven’t had a Hanukkah one until now.
I love this time of year when all the holidays collide…the food, the traditions, the handmade gifts, the celebrations….all of it.
Hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season.
Happy Quilting!
