December Reading Challenge: Stories to Stitch By
This month our challenge is to read something that was written by an author that is no longer living.
And with that for the challenge….there are sooooo many great choices.
Here are a few good reads that fall into this category:
Since it is December I have to put “A Christmas Carol” on the list….because even though I make my family watch the “Muppet Christmas Carol” every holiday season…it is my favorite movie version of the story…I also read the story every year. It is a short read and a favorite.
Then here are a few more good reads:
(And, because I’m also in a nostalgic kind of mood all of them are favorite reads from the past.)
Of course there are so many books to choose from….I had to give myself a 5 book limit!
I only picked a few classics.
(But would love to hear some of your favorites!)
And speaking of classics here are two pattern choices to sew up this month:
The first is our Charming Churndash Quilt Pattern:
It is a classic quilt block pattern with sashing and a wide border.
The second is our Quilt Market Quilt Pattern:
It was inspired by our first trip to Houston Quilt Market years ago and lets you show off your favorite prints and patterns.
Both of these patterns are fun to sew. The Quilt Market pattern comes together in a hurry while the Churndash is great for chain piecing while listening to audio books.
So there you have it…some great reads and some patterns to sew them up by.
Happy Reading!
