September Reading Challenge: Stories to Stitch By
This month our challenge is: “Should Have Read in School”….which means choose a book that students read in their junior high or high school classes but somehow you never read.
Like what books might those be?
Here are some of the books that were on my reading lists in school:
And here is a book that my daughter and I have been reading together this week from her current reading list:
So what books were on your school reading lists?
Which ones have you never read?
Me? I have never read “A Tale of Two Cities”, “The Odyssey”, “Brave New World”, “The Crucible”, “A Separate Peace”, “The Grapes of Wrath”….among many others.
But what I have done is sewn up some really fun quilts while listening to a lot of other great reads….which brings me to our pattern picks for the month.
Since we are officially moving into autumn I chose our “Harvest Quilt” PDF Pattern for the first pattern this month:
I love sewing up this pattern. It is quick and is fantastic for showing off prints that you really enjoy.
The next pattern I chose for September is our “Around the Block” PDF Pattern:
I chose this one because at this point we’ve all been around the block a few times and can be choosy about how we spend our time, what we read, and what we sew.
This pattern is so enjoyable to put together and works with pretty much any combination of prints and patterns.
So there you have….our September Stories to Stitch By!
Happy Quilting.
