I think the last year has taught many of us the important lesson that our homes really are that important. I mean I knew that before….but spending so much time at “home” this last year has been good for me to realize again and again how much of a sanctuary it can be.
No, it’s not always clean…in fact most days it’s not. The laundry is never, ever done. But it’s the feeling and the people that are there that are important.
And I wanted to make a quilt to commemorate how much “staying home” we did this last year. So, “The Home is Where the Heart Is” quilt pattern is now out and ready for you to make one too!
The quilt is approximately 56″ by 60″ so it is the perfect size for wrapping up in as a lap quilt or movie quilt when you need a little extra love from home. It would be the perfect quilt to make and give someone who may need a little extra home right now.
It’s a simple pattern with 16 blocks that are all houses with one heart added into the mix. The pattern is great for a fat quarter bundle you have been wanting to use or even just your bigger sized scrap bin.
The houses are simple but show off your fabrics….and I love the simplicity of it. It signifies the daily events that make home such a special place.
Here is the cute heart block that holds it all together with its center spot in the quilt. Because no matter the squabbles or disagreements it’s the love that holds us together.
You can find the pattern in our shop HERE to make a “Home is Where the Heart Is” Quilt as well! And if you do, we’d love to see them. Please tag us @simplesimonandco on facebook or on instagram. It is so exciting to see all the quilts that you make!
