The Mexican Home Kitchen
Today I’m happy to share with you a beautiful new cookbook that I am in love with it.
It is called the Mexican Home Kitchen and you can order it HERE on Amazon.
I saw awhile back a post written by Mely saying her new book would be out soon and asking if anyone would like a sneak peek…and I was like YES! ME!
All during my growing up years my dad worked nights as a cook at a local Mexican restaurant called Casa Melinda. He would come home late at night smelling like tomatoes and spices…and we were raised on salsa and mole.
In turn Mexican food has become the comfort food of our family so when the book arrived I couldn’t wait to try out her family recipes….and last night was finally the night!
Ruth, my 9 year old, volunteered to make the corn tortillas:
Corn tortillas are super simple to make…and taste so much better than store bought tortillas! And the instructions for making them in Mely’s book are so easy to follow.
As are her instructions for steak tacos!
The beautiful thing about her recipes is that they are all simple, clean, beautiful ingredients put together in an easy straightforward manner.
Dinner was delicious.
I can’t wait to try more of her recipes…and neither can the rest of my family.
My brother and I were visiting on my porch the day the book arrived. My brother, who lived for several years on the Texas/Mexico border and has a mad passion for Mexican food, wanted to check it out as well….and ended up ordering one for himself before he even finished looking through the entire book.
This book is legit and beautiful and packed with delicious, down to earth recipes.
If you are in the market for a new recipe book or the perfect gift for a Mexican food lover in your life check out The Mexican Home Kitchen.
