One of our favorite treats on Sundays is to make a batch of cookies for the family. This is usually a job that is scooped up by a kid and we love the family time of all being in the kitchen making bigger Sunday meals with desserts.
These homemade oreos from scratch are one of the family favorites! You might even want to add these to your Christmas cookie list because they are so yummy.
Here’s how you make them.

- 2 t. vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 2 c. flour (high altitude add 2 T. more)
Cream the butter and sugar, then add eggs, vanilla. Sift together cocoa powder, salt, soda and flour and slowly combine into the wet ingredients. Roll into balls and sprinkle with a pinch of sugar. Bake for 8 mins at 350 degrees. Cool on a wire rack.
Buttercream Frosting:
