Hello. This is the sharing post for Week Three: Mending Neighborhoods and Communities.
What does that mean?
That means if you choose to participate in this challenge (any time during the month of July) you can come back to this post and share what you did to help mend your home and family.
Simply leave a comment and share.
That’s it.
Easy.
I cheated again this week. Or at least had an advantage. I knew this week we would be focusing on mending out neighborhoods and communities and chose to start a new program in my city today.
I wish I could take credit for the idea for this program but I saw it on a neighboring city’s Facebook page. It’s called a Story Walk.
A story walk is where you take a book and break it up onto different sign boards. You then place those sign boards in order of the story from beginning to end.
Then….you can walk down the sidewalk, or trail, and read the story as you stroll by.
SO FUN RIGHT???
I think so.
I chose a park in my city that isn’t the closest to my home, or the most popular, but rather one that I know is frequented by young moms with their little ones on training wheels or in strollers.
I’ve driven by several times and have found moms there each time…even while it has been sprinkling…of course it would rain today…and it has made my heart sing watching them with their kids.
The story will only be up until sunset when I go take the signs down…and then next Wednesday morning they will be back…with a new story on them.
Until then…I can’t wait to read the good you all have been doing…treats delivered to neighbors, books donated to the local library, a porch visit with the person across the street….whatever it is…Share!
What you do lifts us all!

I live on a corner. And it seems to be busy. So when I have been outside lately, I have tried to wave at everyone. Whether I know them or not. We just need friends. And contact. Sometimes I get a honk back. Sometimes its a funny look. But it makes me happy. So I’ll keep waving and sharing a smile at those who drive by.

I brought a meal to somebody who just had surgery. Chili and cornbread. 😉 Hmm…makes me think of a favorite podcast! I hope we’ll be able to enjoy Season 2 of Stitched soon!
