At the end of December/beginning of January I felt a little overloaded with obligations. We had a fun but busy holiday season. Then…we decided to finish our basement…and so every item from the basement moved into my living space.
I was also involved in a lot of different side projects plus our entire family got the flu, our dog died and…well….things got a little bit hectic.
My schedule was full. My living space was full. My mind was full.
One Friday night my kids wanted to have a movie marathon while my husband worked in the basement and I agreed that would be a great idea. However, instead of joining in the marathon or learning how to tile a bathroom I cleared out a corner of a bedroom and started to sew.
I had a few stray precut packs, a fold of white fabric and a new audio book downloaded onto my phone….and I just started sewing and listening.
Before I knew it I had an entire new quilt all sewn up….and I felt happy.
I just needed a little break…and a project for myself…just for fun.
I actually finished before my kids did and had time to grab some pizzas and finish the movie marathon with them. It was a good night.
The afternoon spent sewing followed by pizza and a movie with the kids was just what I needed to recharge my batteries and get back to work in the basement!
Forever this quilt pattern will be my “Just for Fun” quilt pattern.

Now go, have some fun & Happy Quilting!

I took this picture one day later that month when my husband skipped a lunch meeting and came to grab me to go get some giant sodas….and while we were out enjoying playing hooky we took pictures of the quilt in the snow:
Which was also fun.
