How to Make a Heat/Cooling Pack
Today you get a picture of me smiling, sweaty, and genuinely happy about. my new Heat/Cooling pack.
Oh….and you also get the tutorial on how to make the Heat/Cooling pack that is making me so happy.

It’s fast and easy…and I have no idea why it has taken me so long to just make myself one.
Recently I’ve started getting really bad neck and should aches…after jogging and after sewing! And I keep saying if I only had a heating pad to put around my neck…..
So, this week I finally made myself one.
And you can too! Here’s how:
#1. Cut two pieces of fabric 6″ x 18″.

(I used flannel because it is so nice and soft!)
#2. Place the pieces on top of one another with right sides together and stitch around the entire perimeter leaving only a 1″ opening.

(The opening will be used to flip the fabric right sides out and fill with rice.)
#3. Using the 1″ opening flip the pack right sides out.

#4. Using the opening fill the pack with dry rice.

(A funnel comes in handy for filling.)
#5. Hand stitch the 1″ opening closed.

(I use contrasting embroidery floss to stitch up the closing…but you can use matching thread and an invisible stitch.)
#6. Heat in a microwave to desired temperature OR chill in a freezer to the desired temperature and enjoy!

I like mine toasty warm…even in the summer.

I have it on even as I type this!
Who knew something so easy could make me so happy?
Happy Sewing!
