6 Ingredient Pizza Dough Recipe
Water, sugar, yeast, flour, olive oil, salt, and flour. That’s it. Easy.
The past 6 weeks my family has been obsessed with making their own pizzas….and after trying different methods, recipes, types, etc. we have finally some up with one that is easy and delicious.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
1 packet (or 2 and 1/4 teaspoons) dry yeast
1 and 1/2 cups water
2 Teaspoons sugar
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Teaspoons salt
4 cups flour
Here’s How to Make It:
#1. In your mixing bowl add the yeast, water, and sugar. Let proof…about 5 minutes. (While this is happening I get out the other ingredients and put my pizza stone in the oven.)
#2. Add the salt, olive oil, and flour. Mix until smooth and elastic. You can use your dough hook, and I have but I prefer using the flat beater and I mix for about 3 minutes.
#3. Place dough into a greased bowl and cover. Let rise for 30-60 minutes.
Here’s How to Cook It:
#1. When the dough is ready turn your oven on to 475 degrees to get it warmed up. (If you are using a pizza stone make sure your stone is in the oven as it heats.)
#2. Flour your surface area and cut your dough. (We usually roll the dough into a loaf shape and then cut it into 5 pieces…one for each member of the family….which gives us each a nice sized pizza.)
#3. Roll the dough into circles that are 1/4″-1/2″ thick.
#4. This step is optional….but we have decided it is key to the perfect tasting crust….sprinkle some parchment with corn meal then place your flattened dough on top of the corn mealed parchment. (We cook our pizza on the parchment whether or not we are using a pizza stone. It just makes transferring the pizzas around really easy…and it helps make all that yummy cornmeal stick!)
#5. Top with sauce, cheese and, your favorite toppings.
#6. Bake for 8-12 minutes…until the cheese is nice and melty and the crust is golden brown.
#7. Enjoy!
You can find the pizza stone that I use HERE on Amazon. (affliliate link)
It is rectangle and we can put 2 pizzas at a time on it.
