If you are looking for a snowy day craft you can do with the kids–I have the perfect one for you today! These Valentine Gnomes are simple and you probably have most of the things at home that you need to make them. And it’s a great way to use up those stray socks that you haven’t known what to do with for awhile. You can recycle them into cute little gnomes.
The materials are fairly simple for this project. The only thing I bought was the piece of fur and I had all the rest.
Ready to get started? Here’s exactly what you will need to make our cute little Valentine Gnomes.
Materials:
- 1 white tube sock
- rice
- hot glue gun/glue sticks
- fur
- extra random socks and trims
- scissors
- rubberbands
Step one: Fill up half the white tube sock with rice.
Step two: Tie off the top with the rubberband and place a little a bit of hot glue to keep it closed.
Step three: Pinch a round section of the rice and tie off with a second rubber band for the gnome’s nose.
Step four: Cut another sock just above the heel.
Step five: Place over the lower half to from his sweater/body. Hot glue into place.
Step six: Hot glue the fur triangle for his beard.
Step seven: Cut off a second sock just above the heel and add to the top of the gnome for his cap. Tie off a knot on the top and embellish. Glue into place.
And you are done!
Here’s to keeping the kids busy and making some cute Valentine Gnomes to give away as well 🙂
