Today we are releasing our newest quilt pattern—a Simple Christmas Quilt that is made from 10″ pre-cut fabric bundles and a cinch to sew up. This pattern came about as I was looking through a book I have on vintage quilts and I saw several quilts that were pieced out of denim in this modified log cabin pattern. I thought it would make a darling Christmas quilt too!
The method itself for this type of quilt is called the “stack and whack” and it is a fun method of quilting if you have never tried it. It adds that scrappy look of quilts of yesterday and you can add fun and fresh new fabrics to give it a festive look that is darling.
The quilt itself is approximately 50″ by 50″ so it makes a great lap sized quilt and it doesn’t have to be made out of Christmas fabrics either. It would be so cute as a baby quilt, or even for kids as an i-spy quilt out of novelty fabrics as well.
This quilt is made from confetti cottons and a Christmas line called “Merry and Bright,” both from Riley Blake Designs. The sashing is a plus print from our collection last year called “Let Them Be Little.” It is one of my favorites to use for sashings because it is small and cute and is a great blender.
You can find the pattern HERE to purchase for the Simple Christmas Quilt Pattern and the best news is that it is on sale through next week! No code needed at all…but grab it before the price goes up. And you still have time to make one before the holidays, they sew up really quickly and would make a wonderful gift for someone you know.
Happy Quilting! And have a wonderful holiday season this year!
