The When Skies are Grey Baby Quilt is a project that we have had on our to-do list forever!!! So when I found the kits already cut and and mostly sewn up (only one border needed to be put on one quilt) I knew I needed to get them finished up.
And however many years later, I really do still love this line of fabric so so much! It is so versatile, but makes the CUTEST baby blankets and quilts.
So, today we are FINALLY sharing a project that we meant to do when the line first came out (better late than never, right).
First up is the main black and white panel that comes with When Skies are Grey. It is gender neutral and can be used even up through the toddler years! The Black and White Main Kit can be purchased HERE.
And then there’s the pink version. With a cute black quilt border that still makes it so modern and fun!
The pink version can be purchased HERE.
And last but certainly not least is the blue version….one that I have made over and over again. It seems everyone around me is having boys the last couple of years.
And the Blue Kit can be purchased HERE.
If you are wanting to use some fabric you have at home….that’s great as well. The PDF pattern is free for you to download at any time and sews up great to make a baby blanket that is approximately 50″ by 50″ square.
Here is a list of the materials you will need to make this quilt.
Materials:
1 ¼ yards of When Skies are Grey Main Panel
1 yard for border fabric–black swiss dot
½ yard for binding fabric–white with gold stars
2 ½ yards for backing (or 1 ¼ yards of wide back fabric)
