Recently we released our new Harvest Quilt Pattern which really is a great pattern for those just beginning to quilt.
The quick column (vertical row) construction makes it a quick sew and easy to piece together. Plus the large swatches of fabric used makes a fun quilt to showcase larger print fabrics.
I’ve made up several of these quilts and each time I have done it the same way….probably because I over think things waaaaaay to much….but each time I’ve used swiss dots for “flower seeds” then used a small floral as flowers just beginning to bloom and then a larger floral print to represent the flowers in full blossom, ready for harvest..since this is the “Harvest Quilt” pattern.
I know…I’m ridiculous. But I don’t think I can ever make this quilt pattern any other way…
For this quilt I used a fabric line from Riley Blake Designs called Paige’s Passion and paired it with a solid light blue quilt backing. Then I finished it up with a quick machine binding using one of our “glitter” prints from our “Shine Bright” line….and I really like how calm and clean the entire quilt feels.
It’s always fun to see the same quilt sewn up in different fabrics…this is the first Harvest Quilt I made:
And it has a totally different vibe from this most recent one:
I have another one on the cutting table to sew up for a wedding gift and am looking forward to seeing how it turn out!
If you want to make your own Harvest Quilt you can get the PDF pattern HERE.
