I have been making a few project out of Azure Skies that I am excited to show you. This baby romper is one of them and I was so excited to sew some kid clothes again. I made this for a baby shower and it turned out so cute. I love it.
I used a vintage Simplicity pattern (Simplicity to be exact) and did the shorts version. The pattern size was 12 months so she should be able to wear it next summer or even next fall with a shirt and sweater. I did modify the pattern so as not to do snaps, but the buttons at the top should be an easy on and off for diapers.
This print in Azure Skies is one of my absolute favorite. I have now used it in a quilt binding, a baby blanket and now this little outfit. And it has looked great in all of them. I love the colors and details in it and from far away it has the appearance of a stripe. So versatile and cute!
The buttons were some vintage buttons out of my grandma’s button box that I inherited that were that perfect shade of blue and grey. I love cute vintage buttons!
I have a couple more things to show you soon…including a toddler dress that I just need to get the buttons put on. And it’s so cute as well. I miss sewing for little ones.
