Bob Ross has long been a favorite at our house. My 10 year old loves to paint but is also a perfectionist. So awhile back I introduced her to The Joy of Painting….and of course Mr. Bob Ross.
His laid back, encouraging approach to enjoy the journey has helped my daughter to worry less as she works…and not just in her artwork. His catch phrase saying that “there are no mistakes only happy accidents” has become her mantra and I can’t thank him enough.
She still struggles with perfectionism but…when we start to stumble it helps to remember that the blotch of imperfection that we are worried about can easily be turned into “a happy little tree”.
With all that said….today’s episode of Stitched is about a Bob Ross paint night Elizabeth had with her family, crazy quilts, and the imperfect perfectness of quilting.
You can listen to it over on iTunes, Apple Podcasts, Google Play, Spotify, or here just by clicking the button below.
And in the meantime….here is a picture of my cute Grace…dressed up as Bob Ross for Halloween.
And I may or may not have gone trick or treating with her as a happy little tree. ( I should find a picture of that…or maybe not! 🙂 )
Happy Listening, Happy Painting, and Happy Quilting
