As we were in the process of designing Azure Skies it was important to us to keep the same feeling as “Four Corners” (which this was a follow up line to) with it’s simple patterns, geometric prints, and southwestern flavor….however, because this was the follow up to the first line we had ever released we wanted to try something new.
So we added our first ever floral! And not just one but two different florals!
And these florals were inspired by a combination of a few different things…one of them being the phrase Elizabeth and I have heard so many times about making the “desert blossom as a rose”. In the large print, if you look closely, you can see the life cycle of a flower…the seeds, the sprout, the buds, and finally the flower…blossoming as a rose.
As for the tiny floral…it was inspired by these tiny blossoms that are so abundant in Snow Canyon….one of my favorite places on the planet.
I spend a lot of time in Southern Utah…it’s like my second home. I love it there….the warmth and the landscape and the colors…it is beautiful. To me it is peaceful and the entire area holds nothing but happy memories…so as we dove into this project it was tremendous fun to pull together a combination of colors, designs, and feelings that have become a part of who I am.
And we sincerely hope you enjoy this fabric line as much as we do!
