This chocolate cake is one that I made a lot early on in my cooking days, but I forgot about until when I was flipping through an old cookbook recently. It was given to me as a newlywed at a church social and I tell you it is delicious! And the best part about it—it’s super quick to put together and get in the oven.
I made mini ones a few Sundays ago for a treat and they were so good…so I thought I would share the recipe today. The only difference I made to the original recipe below was to only bake them for 30-35 minutes because of the mini-bundt pan I have.
Chocolate Fudge Cake Recipe
- 1 box Devil’s Food Cake Mix
- 1 small package of Chocolate Fudge Pudding Mix
- 1/2 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of vegetable oil
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 1 cup of semi-sweet (or dark) chocolate chips
Combine all ingredients except the chocolate chips until smooth. Then fold in chocolate chips. Pour into a greased bundt pan and bake at 350 degrees for 50-55 mins or until toothpick comes out clean. Take cake out of the oven and leave in the bundt pan for 10-15 mins then turn out to cool. Frost with chocolate ganache or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Enjoy !
