I was browsing some cute Valentine Decorations at a local store and came across this darling geometric heart pillow and I thought it was so cute. And then it dawned on me–it is the Shine Bright Paper Piecing block with one of the triangles at the top turned into a background fabric!
So, off I went to re-create this paper piecing block I love so much into a Valentine Quilt Block as well. Who knew it would be so versatile? I am apparently not all that smart 😉
I used the new Blossom Basic Fabric Print from Riley Blake designed by The Tattooed Quilter and I think it turned out darling! These blocks will make the perfect set of Valentine coasters–or maybe even a mini quilt.
You can find the original post HERE for the diamond block but I think it is just as cute made into a heart as well. So, it’s really TWO blocks in one. The only modification to the original pattern is that triangle #4 needs to be background fabric as well. That’s it!
