So the teenagers in my neighborhood introduced us to a new game that they are obsessed with…Telestrations…it’s a little like pictionary and a little like Catch Phrase and a little like telephone and it’s all fun.
All you need to play is:
*At least 4 people
*A pencil
*Paper
*A pile of cards with written phrases on them
(I made up more than 20 Thanksgiving themed idea cards that you can download and print out HERE for free.)
And then…..Here’s how to play:
#1. Player 1 picks up a card from the pile and reads it. (Keep the cards face down so they can’t be read.)
#2. Player 1 then draws a picture of what that card says at the top of the paper and then passes the paper to player 2.
#3. Player 2 looks at the picture and then folds the top of the paper down covering the illustration. After this player 2 writes down what he thinks the picture is of. Then he passes the paper on to player 3.
#4. Player 3 reads what was written by player 2 but does not unfold the paper. Instead Player 3 folds the paper again covering what was written by Player 2 and now draws a picture of what Player 2 had written. Then she passes the paper on to Player 4.
#5. Player 4 now looks at the illustration made by Player 3 but again, does not unfold the paper, instead Player 4 fold the paper one last time covering the illustration and then writes at the bottom of the paper what he thinks the drawing was a picture of.
#6. When Player 4 is finished writing, the entire paper is unfolding revealing the trail of words and illustrations and comedy ensues.
*If you have more than 4 players you can split into multiple groups that compete against each other to see who gets the bottom line closest to what was written on the original card OR you can just keep the chain going through 5, 6, 7, or 8 players.
*Note: Players who get to draw for their turn are not allowed to add words, letters, or numbers to their drawings.
This game is fun for kids of all ages and our family is hooked.
