I am really trying to teach my oldest two teens how to cook. I am hoping by the time they leave the house that they can make more than just ramen and spaghetti–so we have been looking at and making lots of new recipes lately. This apple spice dump cake is one of those recipes that we tried when we ran out of pumpkin while trying to make a Sunday afternoon treat, so we substituted applesauce and it turned out delicious! It’s going to be added to our fall recipes for sure!
The recipe starts off with a spice cake mix and then you just add a few other ingredients and the cake is so moist and delicious…it’s one you are going to need to try!
Apple Spice Dump Cake
1 box of Spice cake mix
1 cup of applesauce
3 eggs
1/2 cup of water
1/2 cup of vegetable oil
1 box vanilla pudding mix
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. ginger
Mix all ingredients in a bowl until smooth. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool for an additional 20 minutes. Frost with cream cheese frosting and serve!
