Today we are excited to announce the release of our newest fabric line called “Let them Be Little”.
Let them Be Little is a follow up to a line we released a few years back called “When Skies Are Grey”
This fabric, inspired by the song that we were both raised on, is near and dear to our hearts.
While the prints from When Skies Are Grey are available in black, white, and gold, they are also available in a light pink and baby blue….which lend themselves nicely to a nursery…which we love…but a few years later, with Let Them Be Little, we have updated the colors and prints to correspond to those toddler and elementary age years.
Of course we still have black, white, and gold but now we have added pops of red, pink, green and cobalt!
And we have made a few other changes of course…like trading plaid for buffalo check, umbrellas for crowns, and apples for stars.
It’s still young and fun but a little less nursery and a little more playtime.
But still 100% dedicated to this sweet but fleeting time we get to spend with our children when they are young.
Here at Simple Simon and Company you often hear us say that we could freeze time and keep our children…well children (like in this post about my the last time my boy held my hand.) But the years keep creeping up on us….
When it came time for us to explain to Riley Blake Designs the inspiration behind this line this is what we sent:
“It seems like only yesterday we were building forts, putting together legos, and playing dress up. But we blinked and those toddlers have grown up and now spend time with friends, at school, and pursuing their interests. Those magic toddler years with all the creativity, emerging personalities, and “firsts” come with a price…hard work, little sleep, and lots of messes…sometimes the days seem to last forever…but those years, they go by so fast. Our newest collection “Let Them Be Little” is inspired by those days, with gratitude for all the times we were wise enough to let the dishes wait long enough to curl up in a quilt, with our little ones in our arms, to read a story, sing a song, and rock our babies to sleep. Our little ones are only little once…this line is dedicated to making the most of it.”
And that, my friends sums up this line.
We hope you will join us here on Simple Simon and Company all month as we share new projects, patterns, and tutorials celebrating childhood and sewn up with Let Them Be Little.
