Several years ago we shared a “how-to” tutorial of sorts that we called the “Make-it-Over-The-Weekend” Quilt…and it became one of our most asked about tutorials.
For years now we have been asked to make that tutorial into a full pattern with measurements, layouts, fabric requirements, etc…and finally we have done that!
Today we are releasing it as our newest $3.95 PDF Quilt Pattern.
The original quilt was made using a mix of plaid flannels and is so soft and cuddly. That quilt was also tied with yarn instead of being quilted and is shown in the picture above.
There have been a variety of different versions of this quilt since the release of that original tutorial but today we get to share a version made up in our friend Bev’s new fabric line for Riley Blake Designs.
The fabric line is called Vintage Adventure and is just hitting stores! The prints in this collection are filled with whimsical hot air balloons, vintage bicycles, adorable glampers, and sweet florals.
Along with a stripe that is PERFECT for binding!
It was so fun to use these prints in our Make-It-Over-The-Weekend Quilt Pattern. The simple design really let the prints shine.
And…I really love the color palette….so cheery and fresh.
I always love seeing how different fabric choices can change the entire feel of a quilt.
Our original Make-It-Over-The-Weekend Quilt was sewn up in warm plaid toned flannels and feels like fall and curling up with a good book.
While this new quilt feels like summer and cherry lemonade and bike ride over to the library.
I really like both versions and am looking forward to seeing all the photographs of the fabric combinations you use with this pattern.
