We are on week #2 of Skirting the Issue and this week we are focusing on sewing pillowcases for Children’s hospitals and foster care closets! If you are new around here and are wondering what Skirting the Issue is you can go read more about it HERE.
This week in our sewing for charity month we are focusing on sending new handmade pillowcases to children in need. We absolutely love the idea of sending a new bright fun pillowcase to kids who need some extra love. Whether it be a local children’s unit of a hospital or a local foster care closet pillowcase are always something that are needed! And luckily they are also a cinch to make. We have a stack cut out at our house to make this week and we are donating to a local hospital for their pediatric unit. It might even be nice to donate to someone you know is going through chemo or other hospital treatments as an adult too…it would be a special reminder of how much they are loved.
Over the years we have put together quite a few pillowcase tutorials so take your pick from one of the ones below or even use your own if you have a favorite way to make a pillowcase.

And last but not least a roundup of some of our favorite tutorials to make pillowcases from around the web. Lots of these are made the same one but some of them have details that you can use to add to a pillowcase.
