I think most of you know by now that both liZ and I love slow cooker recipes. They are quick, they are easy clean up and they cook while you are doing other things! We have quite a few of them posted in our RECIPE section and I promise all of them are kid and husband approved! And I am also on a mission to find slow cooker recipes that don’t taste mushy or like they have cooked all day and lost their flavor. I promise this Slow Cooker Sticky Chicken drumstick recipe is still juicy and delicious but the sauce is super flavorful and you can crisp up the skin in the broiler.
Here is the recipe I use that is super juicy and tasty!
Place 1 package of chicken drumsticks in the crockpot with about 1/4 cup of water and salt and pepper. Cook on high for 2 hours or low for 4 hours until chicken drumsticks are cooked through but not falling off the bone.
Next, take drumsticks out of slow cooker and place on a foil lined cookie sheet. Make the sauce recipe below and divide into 2 portions. Spread 1/2 of the sauce over all the chicken drumsticks and place under the broiler on high for 2-3 minutes. Turn the legs over and spread with the rest of the sauce from the first portion. Use the second portion of the sauce for serving the meat.
Sauce:
1/2 cup of honey
2 T. Soy Sauce
1 T. chopped garlic
2 T. hoisin sauce (or I use a sweet bbq sauce in a pinch)
2 T. white wine vinegar
I serve the slow cooker sticky chicken recipe in the summer with a salad and a veggie. And in the winter with some rice and a veggie and my kids eat it up! If you want to pin this recipe to make later, here is a picture below that you can pin.
