Don’t you love when you find amazing things when you are cleaning out? That’s what happened to me last month when I found City Tiles Quilt. I have been working to clean out and move my sewing room upstairs. And I started a WIP pile that is out and visible so that I can actually finish them. This was the first of three projects that I have actually finished in the last month, which is pretty amazing for me!
I found my City Tiles quilt blocks in a bag with a note that said “ran out of white :(“. I had already made 9 blocks and when I tried to match it to three different whites I had in my stash and none of them matched I knew it was time to improvise.
So, improvise I did. I used the nine city tiles blocks as the center and then added a white with navy swiss dot from Riley Blake Designs and a navy solid border to make the nine patch stand out. And I love the result!
The fabric itself and the pattern were given to me by Quilter’s Candy Box and I am just sad that it took me over 2 years to finish the quilt. I really love the way it turned out. You can find the City Tiles Pattern HERE.
I need to use swiss dot more—I love it so much. And the quilting by Sew Shabby is all heart eyes…she is the best at picking quilting patterns for quilt tops!
This quilt is going to someone soon and I hope she will love it as much as I do! It’s a good one!
