Today I wanted to share this easy wassail recipe that my family has been using for…I don’t know how long. It is easy to make, tastes delicious, and smells divine.
Normally I would share this recipe around the holidays…but it is what we have been living off of the past month. Every single person at my house has been sick with either the influenza, chest colds, ear infections, bronchitis, or a combination of that group.
It’s been miserable.
But what has helped has been warm mugs of wassail while wrapped in blankets.
So if your February is going like mine now may be the perfect time for this recipe. Here’s how to make it:
Simmer the following for 20 minutes:
*20 whole cloves
*3 or 4 cinnamon sticks
*2 quarts water (8 cups)
*2 cups sugar
Then add:
*1 can frozen orange juice
*1 can pineapple juice (42 oz.)
*1 gallon apple cider
*2 quarts water
Simmer for another 20 minutes
Remove cloves and cinnamon sticks.
Serve and enjoy!
See…easy peasy.
And it really is delicious.
