I hardly ever have the chance to sew something up for my big girlie. It seems like just yesterday that she and I would pick out cute fabric and sew up a dress, but I feel like I blinked and she grew up on me.
So when she fell in love with the gold sparkle diamond print from Shine Bright Fabrics, I knew I had my chance to sew something up for her. I cut her out a babydoll tunic and she lives in it. And better yet she loves it!
To draft the pattern I took a woven shirt that fits her well and traced it to draft the top portion of the babydoll blouse. I then added the sleeves and babydoll ruffle. To make the ruffle, I measured the bottom of the bodice and then doubled it, cut a rectangle and then gathered it to match.
Here is a close up of the print with the gold sparkle print.
And the seal of approval from a tween for the Shine Bright Tunic makes me so happy. I’ve been working on a few other projects with Shine Bright and I can’t wait to show you all of them this month!

My daughter is a jeweler and would love this fabric. I went to their site and didn’t find it. Do you have any additional info on it? Manufacturer?

I like this top. It’s so hard to find patterns that pre-teens and teens like.
