If you are following along with us on our Instagram Stories you will know that I have been doing quite a bit of English paper piecing and also Foundational Paper Piecing, which has been a fun adventure. I started paper piecing two years ago with English paper piecing and then started adding foundational paper piecing to the mix….and I love them both!
So, for Christmas I thought I would do work on two foundational paper pieces that I am working into one big Christmas quilt. The quilt itself might not be done until next Christmas (the story of my life) but I thought I would share the blocks with you this year in case you are needing a project for Christmas this year. They would also make a great mini quilts or even a mug rugs if you have time to make one or more!
The first patchwork block is the Santa Gnome paper piecing block that I made as a PDF pattern. I think it is so cute and it is made with a beginner in mind.
Santa Gnome Paper Pieced Block
You can click HERE to download the pattern and make up one this week! It would be great as a mug rug or even a whole table runner of little Santas.
And the second pattern is a foundational paper piecing pattern for a Holiday Tree patchwork block. Both of these blocks are perfect for beginner’s who are interested in learning out to paper piece.
You can download the Christmas Tree Paper Pattern HERE.
And if you are interested in learning how to do foundational paper piecing I am going to do a facebook live with the Christmas Tree pattern tomorrow around noon MT—so hop on over to Facebook and sign up to get notifications of when we are live!
P.S. Here is an image to pin this post if you want to save these patterns for later…

Thank you for the patterns. They are easy enough that even I can make them. I’ve only made about 5 paper pieced blocks and I love how easy they are to do.
