We are so excited to be releasing a new quilt pattern today! This quilt has been long in the works but now it’s finally written and illustrated and ready for you to make lots of beautiful quilts. The quilt pattern–known as The Scrappy Sawtooth Quilt Pattern–is exactly that, a way to use up scraps or even use pre-cuts to make some lovely quilts. This quilt block first showed up last year, on instagram as just a single quilt block but now the pattern is finally ready!
The Sawtooth patchwork quilt block is one of the oldest historical quilt blocks and can be dated to right after the Civil War when “star quilts” were very popular. This block is known as an 8-point star and is a simple patchwork block to make, but looks so great in quilts. It can be made in so many different fabrics and with so many color choices. I have a Halloween quilt I can’t wait to show you on Wednesday that is a completely different style but I love it too!
The quilt itself measures about 54″ by 54″ inches square and is the perfect lap sized or baby quilt. But once you have the general pattern down it can easily be resized to make it larger or smaller.
I do love the way the little nine patches show off so many fabric prints within the sawtooth star quilt block.
You can find the PDF pattern in our shop and we even have some kits made up for you in pink, blue and black and white. Head HERE to buy the pattern itself.
There are three versions of The Scrappy Sawtooth Quilt kits available–PINK, BLUE or BLACK AND WHITE. Click on the color you would like and it will take you to purchase that kit. All of the fabrics are included in the kit to make the quilt top, sashings, borders and quilting binding.
