I think it was inevitable that we would release a leggings pattern.
Elizabeth and I tend to find something we love and then make a million versions of it. And usually those things we love are fairly practical, easy to make, and to be used or given to someone else.
These leggings are practical (knit washes well and is comfortable), they are one of those honest to goodness make-in-an-afternoon projects, and they are made for our girls who wear them all the time. Add to that we have made 7 billion pair of them and it is a recipe for a pattern release.
I snapped this photo of Ruth before sending her off to school today:
Like her mother, she thinks it is way too early for civilized people to be up and about!
However, she is wearing a pair of the leggings made with her favorite color and pattern of our “By Popular Demand” knit.
She is the leggings addict at out house…they are stretchy and comfy and warm and she wears them with tunics and sweaters and t-shirts and under skirts and dresses. So because she wears them so much I really thought about her when I made this pattern. And one of the things I wanted this pattern to have was a “high-rise”.
She is a rough and tumble kind of kid and some of the store bought leggings had a lower cut which allowed undies to hang out…not my favorite thing. So this pattern has a higher rise and I really love that.
The other thing to note about this pattern is that you might not make the same size pattern that your child wears in premade clothing. (This is the case for both of my girls.) Pattern sizing is different from premade sizing so please remember to measure your little ones and check the chart included in the pattern before choosing a size to cut out.
With all that said we are happy to release this pattern and hope you will like it too.
You can find it in a PDF version HERE in our shop.
Or in a traditional PAPER version HERE in our shop as well.
And don’t forget to go HERE and enter to win one of four prize packs that include a pattern and 1.5 yards of our By Popular Demand knit.
Happy sewing!
