This morning I walked through a field to take a photograph of a quilt that I fiished up a few months ago but have never shared.
I drive by this field almost everyday and I became convinced that I needed to brave the field (which I knew to be full of snakes and mice) to photograph this quilt here.
I made my husband come with me for moral support…it was a good choice…both the location for a photograph and bringing my husband.
But this post isn’t about the field, my husband, or my fear of creepy crawly things…it’s about the quilt.
I know I talk about this quilt pattern a lot but I really do love it.
The pattern is our Saturday Afternoon Quilt Pattern. It is a quick sew and is one that by just changing the fabrics changes the entire feel of the quilt. And I love this fabric! It is called Vintage Daydream and is a line from Riley Blake Designs.
With this quilt I did something a little different and backed it with a dark heavy flannel that matched the dark pops of color on the front.
I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not but when it came back from the quilter I fell in love!
I think there will be more dark backings on my quilts in the future!
I am so glad I sewed this quilt up over the summer…it is going to be perfect for this fall.

Happy Quilting!

Yay! You got great pictures and braved your fears!
I really love the fabrics in this quilt, too. It is a great pattern to showcase large prints!
