Even though it is summer and we are trying to spend as much time as we can with our kiddos there has been some sewing going on behind the scenes. Not a ton, but I do have a few quilt tops cut out–a Halloween quilt, and one other one. I’ve also been working on two new quilt patterns that are coming out this month as well. And, of course, this “Curiosities” quilt is one of the few things that I actually have finished. YAYY for finished!!!
The fabric line is by Amanda Herring for Riley Blake Designs and it is such a good one! I chose the pink and grey color way for the quilt. And the pattern itself is really a variation of The Saturday Afternoon Quilt pattern (the pieces were just cut in half!) to show off all the amazing fabrics that are in the collection. Both liZ and I have sewn up that pattern so many times for quick and simple quilts, that I decided to do a “mini” version of the same quilt blocks.
I added a few more rows to the overall quilt because the pieces were smaller, but if you are looking for a starting point you can buy the pattern HERE to make the original quilt and then modify it as you wish!
I almost have the finishing touches on a FREE quilt PDF pattern and then one more that will be so useful in so many variations. I just need a few more hours to work on them….and hopefully this week will get me those few hours to finish them up.
What have you been working on this summer? Any finished sewing projects? Or just works in progress that are waiting for fall? It’s a crazy but good time of the year…
