Welcome to the Just Add Sugar Fabric Tour! Throughout the month of June we are showing off some things that you can put on your summer sewing list from our newest fabric line Just Add Sugar and we have invited a few guests to join us along the way. It’s going to be a fun month of sewing, crafting and quilting using all of the different colors in the fabric line.
Today I am showing off one of my very favorite things I made for our quilt market booth—a boy’s shirt out of the “univited guests” fly print from the fabric line. I really love it. When we were making the fabric line we knew we wanted a “weird” print in there…and when we came up with the fly print we both were in love with the idea of it. I know it’s not everyone’s thing…so from far away it looks like a blender print but I love the up-close detail of it looking like flies. It’s quirky and funny and that’s exactly what we were going for.
The shirt was made out of a Burda Boy’s Shirt Pattern that I love and have used a million times. I love good simple patterns like that, that you can use over and over and Burda always fits that mold for me. I have one more summer shirt cut out like this for Isaac and they are so cute on too. I made the boy’s size 8 for reference for the shirt and it fits my almost 7 year old great.
I have a few other projects sewn from the fabric line that I am excited to show you and liZ has some that are darling too–quilts as well as garments and other things to make your summer sewing that much more fun! See you later this week for a couple of friends that will be joining us too.
