Today we are happy to be a part of Melissa’s annual Sundressing series over at Melly Sews.
We have been participating in this series for…I don’t know how many years…since the beginning I think…and it is always fun to see the sundresses that everyone creates.
This year we are happy to be sharing a summer sun dress made for our girls using some of our new “Just Add Sugar” fabric that we designed for Riley Blake Designs.
This line is full of happy colors, simple shapes, and clean lines. Everything we love!
And, as always, whether we are constructing garments or putting together quilt tops we love to mix pattern, contrast, and scale to get the most bang out of our design.
So with this sundress we used a very small scale, black and white print for the bodice and paired it with the larger, bolder print full of bright colors for the skirt.
Which with thinks makes the dress more interesting.
And speaking of this dress…we have been making variations of this dress for….years and years now…literally. We even have the pattern mostly written for it…we should probably finish it up one of these days….
Until then go and check out all the fun dresses over at Melly Sews!
