For awhile now we have been fan’s of the FreeSpirit Fabric designer Kaffe Fasset.
In fact, we’ve enjoyed his fabric so much that we used it for the Churndash chapter in our book Simple Simon’s Guide to Patchwork Quilting.
I love that bold print and the combination of colors.
Which is what we love, in general, about Kaffe Fassett’s fabric…those bold prints and the color combintations.
Recently we were part of a fabric tour with Free Spirit Fabrics for his new Artisan line.
See what I mean about the bold prints and colors? And why they are so inspiring???
It was so much fun playing with the prints that I had to make both a dress and a quilt with them. How could I not???
And then we were told that Kaffe Fassett just released a 72 page EBook with projects designed around this Artisan fabric line….how cool is that???
The book only costs $14.99 and contains 14 different projects with step by step instructions and full color photos. Of course patchwork quilts are included in the book but so are garments, and accessory projects like placemats and pillows. The book also encourages readers with tips and techniques on how to combine bold prints and layer fabrics.
Of his Artisan fabric line and the accompanying book Kaffe said:
“My Artisan fabrics were something I had dreamt of creating, inspired by my travels to ethnic markets where I witnessed how people used the fibers and textiles of their regions to create beautifully hand-crafted works.” said Kaffe. “In Sew Artisan! I bring together these different types of ‘ethnic’ fabrics, and show you how they can be sewn together to make quilts, garments, and accessories.”
If you are a Kaffe Fasset fan or are inspired by his work then this EBook might just be for you!
