Today we have a simple polar fleece blanket embellishment that is perfect for a last minute Valentine’s Day gift.
Polar Fleece blankets can often be found at a great price…I got mine for only $3 each on clearance.
The only other thing you need is a piece of felt for the embellishment.
I used red felt to cut a 10″x 12″ heart.
Next I positioned the heart in the bottom right hand corner of the blanket and used some spray basting to hold it in place. (You could also pin it in place.)
After that I used matching thread to stitch the heart securely into place. (My stitching line is a generous .25″ just inside of the edge of the heart.)
And that’s it! You are done.
Just cut, position, and stitch.
I made one for each of my girls in 30 minutes!
Happy Sewing!
*NOTE: If you can’t find any polar fleece blankets in your area you can order them on Amazon. HERE are some good size polar fleece blankets for $7.50.

I like to use minky scraps and do this on simple flannel blankets.
