It’s my turn on our fabric tour today and I went with an old stand-by pattern/tutorial that I absolutely love–The Vintagely Modern Skirt Tutorial!
I think I made my first skirt like this when Hannie was 5 or 6 years old and I am telling you they are the best skirts! They look great. They fit for so long (especially if you make them a couple inches longer than needed) and they look darling. I have made it so many times; it is one of the staple pieces I make when this girlie outgrows her clothes. Mostly because they actually get worn!
The tutorial for the skirt is The Vintagely Modern Skirt. The first version I made was just a button closure…but since then I have upgraded to adding an invisible zipper to the side seam which I absolutely love. It gives it such a clean polished look.
In these pictures Hannie is wearing the skirt with a small petticoat. Or she often just wears them plain around and they look just as cute with a tee and a cardigan. They really are some of her favorite skirts!
Head over to pin the full tutorial so that you can make one for yourself or for your girlie. They can be made in any size!
