Do you still need a last minute gift? (I do!) These are the perfect Scrap Fabric Holiday Cards to make because we have done most of the work–all you need to provide is the scraps!
We love all things sewing and quilting….and because of that, one thing that we ALWAYS have coming out of every nook and cranny of our sewing spaces is SCRAPS. I think they sometimes are taking over the world….and I very well can’t throw them away (they are precious!), so I’ve been trying to think of useful projects to pair down the scrap bucket. And this is a useful one for all of us…either to use or to give away—Scrap Fabric Holiday Cards.
And the best part of all is that are so simple to make! You could make quite a few sets in an afternoon…as we have put together all of the work for you. All you need to do is break out your fabric scrap bin, some scissors and have some card stock and envelopes and you are ready to to! It would even be a perfect project to keep kids busy too, they could help cut out all the shapes and even sew them on!
Each of the cards I made are 5.5″ by 8.5″ because those are the coordinating envelopes I had. Here is the template for each of the cards.
All you have to do is print off the card templates, free hand some simple shapes–star for the wish card and triangles and a trunk for the Christmas tree and then stitch them on! Don’t worry about being precise, they will turn out great no matter what!
We have lots more tutorials over at Simple Simon and Company and even free sewing and quilting patterns to learn how to sew or even to make something during naptime. See you there!
