No Sew Quilted Christmas Trees
Today we are sharing two tutorials for some no-sew Christmas Projects that will be great for getting your scrap bins down! The first is a No Sew Quilted Christmas Ornament over at I Heart Naptime’s Crazy Christmas Event and the second are these darling No Sew Quilted Christmas Trees that are fast becoming one of my favorite things to sit at night and make.
Here’s how you make them:
Materials:
3″ fabric circles (I used about 30 for the small tree, 75 for the medium and about 125 for the large tree)
Styrofoam Cones for the trees
Dress maker Pins (ones with no tops)
And here’s how you make the trees!
Step 1: Fold your circle in half and then half again to have a quarter circle.
Step 2: Starting at the bottom of your cone, place the first quarter circle so it hangs off the cone about 1/2″ and pin in place.
Step 3: Repeat steps #1 and #2 for the whole bottom row of the tree cone.
Step 4: The next row should have the points in between the points of the row before it. Pin in place.
Step 5: Keep repeating steps #1-5 until you are 2/3 of the way up the cone.
Step 6: at the top take one circle and pin in place on two opposite sides. Take other remaining sides and fold them in. Pin in place.
Step 7: Then continue with your quarter circles to cover up the remaining styrofoam.
And you are done!
And then get ready to make a village!
