Today we are excited to be a part of DMC’s blog hop with the fabulous Bev from Flamingo Toes.
DMC is well known for floss but they also have some really fun new products like stitchable cork fabric! (Which is what we had the opportunity to play with today.)
Stitchable cork fabric…that made me think of kitchen items…like potholders!
The cork fabric was a lot of fun to use. It comes in a roll, is easy to cut and doesn’t fray. Plus my sewing machine needle cut through it like butter! And actually, it wasn’t too hard on my hand needle either.
For a long time now I have been wanting to dabble with putting wonky hand embroidered elements on my quilt blocks and this project gave me just the opportunity to experiment. And judging by how much fun I had adding just a few simple stitches…I see a lot more hand stitched elements being added to my quilt blocks in the future.
And this cork fabric worked out so nicely that I see more of these potholders in my future as well…both to make for myself and as hostess gifts for the holidays!
Thank you Bev and DMC for letting us be part of such a fun blog hop!
