Today we get to share with you a fun Pikachu inspired skirt as part of our friend Louise’s annual “Sew Ready to Play Series” on her blog “I’m Feeling Crafty“.
This series asks bloggers to make an outfit inspired by a favorite game….and I love the word inspired…as I’m not a very literal, follow the instructions kind of gal.
So I put together an outfit inspired by the game that swept across the country this summer….Pokemon Go.
Remember when everyone was running around trying to catch ’em all???
My kids were all so excited to play …and we downloaded the game to my phone….but quickly discovered that it was more suited for my 11 year old and while he was hunting (and whatever else you do) there was a lot of sitting around for the 7 year old.
Until she realized that at each place we went she could have her own adventure!
And then…the game became fun for everyone.
For this outfit we bought a $5 T-shirt from Wal-Mart.
I made a skirt with an exposed elastic waistband using THIS TUTORIAL:
And then just added some circle pockets.
While the leggings were made using THIS TUTORIAL:
They were both easy to sew, will wash well, and will all get a lot of wear.
Thanks Louise for inviting us to be a part of such a fun series!

Love it ! It’s so funny, because I seem to be super literal when I make my projects! So, I love seeing what you come up with! Thanks for playing along!

How timely! My 9 year old DGD asked for an outfit like Pokemon. I didn’t even know what it was! No I have a place for inspiration and I’ll talk it over with her. Thanks!
