Simple Curtain Modifications

Today we have 9 simple curtain modifications that you can complete in an afternoon!

 

The first and easiest modification is simple…and my solution to most everything…JUST ADD POM POMS!

Simply stitch  a strand of pom pom trim down the edges or bottom of your curtains using your sewing machine.

 

Or what about flowers?

Hot glue dollar store flowers to the bottom hem of your curtains!

 

 

Need to add a pop of color?

Sew a solid section of bold fabric to the bottom hem of your curtain panel!

For a completely different look.

Try mixing thing up a bit and stray from the traditional curtains to something more textural…like an amazing shawl, crocheted item, or macrame piece.

 

Or add that extra texture and interest by changing up your curtain rings….try using rope, leather strips, ribbons, or bows.

Another easy way to change up existing curtains is to simply tie them back.

Again you can use ribbons or bows…or you can even try old necklaces, beads or bracelets!

 

Another quick curtain fix is to leave the curtains alone altogether and just spray paint the curtain rods!

Or wrap them up in something unexpected like twine!

Or go one step farther and trade out that flat curtain rod for a curved shower curtain rod to make your windows look amazing!

There are a lot of ways to modify your curtains without having to go to the expense of buying new ones.  All it takes is an afternoon and a little creativity!
