Today we have an easy gift card pouch tutorial for you!
(I was cleaning out the drafts section of our blog and found this post that we shared months ago over at Lolly Jane but never reposted on our own site and so I forget about it again I am sharing it today!)
HERE IT IS:
Hello Lolly Jane Readers!
Simple Simon and Company is happy to be here the Saturday before Christmas! And, today we have an easy last minute project that can help to personalize a gift that is not only popular to give but one that almost everyone loves to receive…the gift card!
These gift card pouches are so super easy to make that you will be done, from start to finish, in less than 10 minutes and all you will need is a chunk of felt and some ribbon!
Here’s what to do:
#1. Cut two pieces of felt that measure 3″ by 4.5″ and two pieces of ribbon that each measure 7″ long.
(I used sparkled felt…because it’s so cute!)
#2. Sew one piece of ribbon to each of the short sides of the front of one of your felt pieces.
#3. Place the felt piece with your ribbon attached to it right sides up on top of your other piece of felt (wrong sides together, right sides out) and sew around each side and the bottom using a generous quarter inch seam allowance.
#4. Using a pair of pinking shears (or other decorative scissors) cut around all four sides of your card holder. (Making sure not to cut through your stitching!)
#5. Tie and trim your bow.
#6. Insert your gift card and it’s ready to go!
NOTE: When making these pouches it is best to select a thread that matches the felt that you are using. Today we used a white thread on black felt so that the stitching would be visible in photos…but in real life…we would have chosen to use black thread. 🙂
