Simple Burp Cloth Tutorial

If you know one thing about babies, it’s the fact that you know that babies go through lots of outfits, lots of diapers and lots of burp cloths!  And the best burp cloths that I ever had while feeding lots of babies were handmade ones made out of cloth diapers. The best part is that they are so simple to make! Here’s what you will need to make the burp cloth tutorial:

cloth diapers

1 yard of tiny pom pom trim per burp cloth

1/4 yard of Riley Blake double gauze fabric for each burp cloth

Thread to match the pom pom trim (you can buy the pom pom trim HERE)

BURP CLOTH TUTORIAL

Step 1: Measure the length of the cloth diaper (I found each brand to be 1-2 inches different). Then measure the middle section (the padded section) of the cloth diaper.

Step 2: Cut a piece of double gauze 8 inches by the (length of cloth diaper plus 2 inches).

Step 3: Press under all the sides of the double gauze 1 inch, then stitch onto cloth diaper. Cut the pom pom trim to length of diaper and stitch it on as well.  And you are done!
