Do you have those days in the week when all of a sudden you look at the clock and it is almost 5 pm and you haven’t even thought about what to make for dinner? Yep, me too. All the time. And so over the years I have a few recipes that I can always use in a pinch that come straight out of the pantry so I can put dinner on the table fast. They often save us from a fast food drive-through window;)
This easy brown butter pasta recipe is one of those go-to recipes that you can start and be eating in 30 minutes. I usually pair it with a salad or a quick vegetable and dinner is done. The other great thing is that it is a crowd pleaser and absolutely no one complains…
Here’s my recipe but you can basically use what you have.
Easy Brown Butter Pasta Recipe
1 lb. angel hair pasta
1/4 cup of butter
1 t. fresh garlic
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
salt and pepper
fresh basil (I cut into small ribbons)
optional: bacon bits
In a large pot boil water for pasta and cook the angel hair pasta. In another saucepan melt the 1/4 cup of butter until it is slightly browned, then add garlic for about 2 minutes to cook the garlic. When pasta is ready, drain the pasta retaining about 1/4 cup of pasta water. Add butter sauce and 1/4 cup pasta water into the pasta, then add the parmesan cheese, bacon bits, salt and pepper and fresh basil. Then serve and enjoy!
